More about the artist

Greger "Knock-Out Greg" Andersson has risen all the way to the top of the Nordic and European blues scenes. With his soulful vocals, razor-sharp guitar work, and powerful, distinctive harmonica tone, he has impressed blues audiences around the world. On his latest album, Serve Me Right To Suffer, together with his band The Blue Flames, he delivers world-class harmonica playing—a sound that places him alongside legends like George "Harmonica" Smith and other giants of the genre.

Greger discovered the blues in the mid-1980s, inspired by local harmonica icons such as Jan “Harmonica” Sjöström and the legendary Sven Zetterberg, who often performed with his band Chicago Express near Södertälje, where Greger attended school as a young boy. At the age of 19, he began to master his instrument and founded his first band, Knock-Out Greg & The Blue Weather. With that band, he toured extensively for over 20 years and released five acclaimed albums on labels including Last Buzz Records, Blue Moon Records, and the Finnish Goofin’ Records.

In the past decade, he has been heard in various lineups, including Knock-Out Greg & The Injectors, Knock-Out Greg & The Jukes, and Big Band Splash—just to name a few.

Greger’s harmonica style draws influences from classic pioneers like DeFord Bailey, Little Walter, and Big Walter Horton, as well as modern greats such as William Clarke and Gary Primich. But what truly sets him apart is the rich, full-bodied sound he has developed over the years—an unmistakably personal tone.

Joining him in the band is his younger brother Marcus Andersson on drums. The two have played together for over 30 years, ever since they first started out in Gnesta in 1988, and have shared the stage at thousands of gigs. On bass is Tommy Cassemar, a musician who made his mark in the early 1980s as a member of Electric Banana Band, and has since played with artists like Sven Zetterberg, Mikael Rickfors, Mats Ronander, Totta Näslund, Grymlings, Mick Taylor (ex-Rolling Stones), and Steve Gibbons—just to name a few. Last but by no means least, we have Tomi Leino from Finland on guitar—one of the most in-demand and versatile blues guitarists in Europe, with a well-earned global reputation.

Greger "Knock-Out Greg" Andersson – vocals & harmonica

This is a picnic event, or as we like to call is: Picnic theater. That means that you may bring your own food and drinks to the event.

It doesn’t matter what you bring – take-away pizza at one table is followed by oysters and caviar at the next. Bring what you feel like, and don't forget to bring glasses and cuttlery!

Please note that you may not bring food if you have tickets for the balcony, only drinks and snacks.
