Recorded live in São Paulo during the first days of this year, Cometa features classic sambas by Brazilian legends such as Dorival Caymmi, Ari Barroso, Jobim, Paulinho da Viola, and Djavan, alongside four original compositions—one by each musician.
“A samba-drenched gem that dips into the blues, runs with a percussive beat, leaps into tempo changes, offers straight-up melodic beauty, and soars with celestial vocals.” - DownBeat Magazine
When reflecting on the sessions, Luciana Souza and Trio Corrente described joy as the defining emotion of their collaboration.
