Buzz' Ayaz is a new project led by the acclaimed musician Antonis Antoniou, known from the award-winning bands Monsieur Doumani and Trio Tekke. Under his leadership, the band has quickly made a name for itself with its strong interplay and unique blend of tradition and innovation.
The band members come from both sides of Nicosia’s divide, and their collaboration is a conscious act—a musical bridge that stretches across walls, checkpoints, and borders. Their music gives a powerful voice to the entire city, a voice that echoes through its complex history and present, beneath the same borderless sky.
Folk traditions form the heart of the band’s expression, used as a vibrant palette to create a contemporary mosaic—a sonic universe that blends local identity with a global perspective.
In August 2024, Buzz' Ayaz released their highly anticipated debut album on the iconic German label Glitterbeat Records.
