More about the artist

Nynningen is one of the most legendary progressive rock bands to emerge from the Swedish 1970s scene. Since their return to the stage at Pustervik in Gothenburg in 2016, they have continued to deliver their distinctive blend of rock, jazz, improvisation, and folk music – always with powerful lyrics in Swedish.

The band was founded in 1971 by Tomas Forssell, Bertil Goldberg, and Totta Näslund, and over the decades, they’ve left a lasting mark on Swedish music history. In addition to the classic För Full Hals (1973) and several releases during the '70s, Nynningen has in recent years released four critically acclaimed albums: Vi Kommer (live, 2019), Anakonda och andra låtar (2020), Allting börjar klarna (2020), and Nynningen 50 (2023). More exciting releases are expected in 2025.

Since reuniting, the band has toured extensively across Sweden, performing over 200 concerts at clubs, festivals, and theaters – often as part of unique stage productions. One particularly acclaimed collaboration was the performance En dröm, en längtan, en sång (A Dream, a Longing, a Song) with Sven Wollter and Matilda Magnusson.

Nynningen has always had a strong poetic sensibility and has set music to the works of poets such as Vladimir Mayakovsky and Kent Andersson. Today’s lineup carries on and develops the musical legacy that has shaped Nynningen for over fifty years – with members also active in bands such as Stefan Sundström & Den Sista Jäntan, Givana, Hollow Ship, Änglaspel, Thomas Jäderlund’s Amazing Trio, and Gudibrallan.

On stage:
Tomas Forssell – vocals, guitar
Anastasia Grivogiannis – vocals, guitar
Nikke Ström – bass
Thomas Jäderlund – saxophones, vocals
Mårten Magnefors – drums

Picnic theater

This is a picnic event, or as we like to call is: Picnic theater. That means that you may bring your own food and drinks to the event.

It doesn’t matter what you bring – take-away pizza at one table is followed by oysters and caviar at the next. Bring what you feel like, and don't forget to bring glasses and cuttlery!

Please note that you may not bring food if you have tickets for the balcony, only drinks and snacks.
