The trio is led by pianist and composer Miloš Biháry, who has been playing since the age of four and studied at, among other institutions, the Conservatoire in Bratislava. Together with violinist Adam Halás and drummer Marek Rašman, he reimagines well-known compositions in fresh sonorities – original arrangements that weave modern jazz and classical nuances into the gypsy idiom without ever losing its spirit.
Their most recent release, Čavoros de Django (May 2025), is a collection of nine tracks where tradition meets innovation. In their live performances, the trio transport audiences to the Paris of the 1930’s,40s and 50’s – to the days when Django Reinhardt filled the streets and cafés with the sounds of jazz manouche.
On stage:
Miloš Biháry – piano, arrangements
Adam Halás – violin
Marek Rašman – drums
One of the world’s greatest guitarists and the creator of gypsy jazz – or jazz manouche – Jean “Django” Reinhardt (January 23, 1910 – May 16, 1953) takes center stage as we honor his music and legacy by inviting artists who perform in his spirit. Django revolutionized jazz guitar and has inspired generations of musicians, from jazz guitarists to rock and country icons such as Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, Tony Iommi, and Willie Nelson.
