The richness of Fumero’s Catalan, Argentinian, and Swiss roots runs deep through her music, lending it a distinctive color and temperament. With her masterful command of the piano, natural and expressive voice, and a rare ability to create genuine musical connections, Lucia Fumero has rapidly become one of the most distinctive and expressive voices on the contemporary Spanish jazz scene.
After her acclaimed debut album Universo normal (Seed Music, 2021) – which introduced a vivid and original musical language infused with Latin American influences – Fumero has continued to expand her artistic horizons. Her subsequent releases include Los Fumeros (Seed Music, 2022), recorded together with her father, the legendary double bassist Horacio Fumero, and the more experimental La Naissance de la Mer (Modern Obscure Music, 2023).
Now she returns with her most ambitious project to date – the double album Folklore (Seed Music, 2024). Here, Fumero reconnects with her roots, letting traditional song and jazz’s spirit of freedom meet in an organic dialogue. The result is a collection of original works imbued with a folkloric sensibility and instrumental pieces that vibrate with rhythm, warmth, and improvisation.
On stage:
Lucia Fumero – piano & vocals
Martín Leiton / Magalí Datzira – double bass & leona
Juan R. Berbín – drums & percussion
