Bonita& The Blues Shacks (ZA/DE)
Rooted in the golden era of blues – from the mid-1950s to the late 1960s – the band’s original material draws on the rich traditions of rhythm & blues and early soul. With Andreas Arlt’s tasteful, genre-defying guitar work and Michael Arlt’s expressive vocals and harmonica, paired with Bonita Niessen’s powerful, emotionally charged voice, the group has found a unique synergy that breathes fresh life into the connection between blues and soul.
Over the past two decades, B.B. and the Blues Shacks have grown into one of Europe’s leading contemporary blues and soul bands, performing across the continent and in the U.S. Most recently, they toured California and took the stage at the legendary Russian River Blues & Jazz Festival, sharing the lineup with icons such as Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, and WAR.
